Pagadi system

I been living in pagadi room from 2008 in Mumbai ,the room is on name of my aunt, we were living in joint family ,but in 2009 my uncle and aunt shifted to flat and this room come under our share, but landlord is not considering us joint family members and treat us as tenant, and ask for extra rent for every year and if don't pay the extra rent (10000) , he refuses to paid the rent recipt of my aunt, what should I we to avoid this extra rent that the landlord ask for every year as rent share,

Quick Summary
This discussion concerns the Pagadi system in Mumbai, where a tenant has been living in a room since 2008. Although the room became part of their family's share in 2009, the landlord refuses to acknowledge them as joint family members and demands extra rent annually. The landlord also withholds rent receipts if the extra payment isn't made. The advice given is to consult a local advocate experienced in such matters for professional guidance and legal proceedings.

Contact a local advocate as he must be well versed with such cases in your city in the past.

It is better to consult and engage a local prudent lawyer for appreciation of facts / documents, professional advise and necessary proceedings.
