I am a notary public and I was attesed sale deed after signature executors and two witness affix with their photograph in 2009 but I am not enter that document in my register but executor made false serial no. on the sale deed. Now one party file FIR and police come in my office and ask me about that entry. I am saying investigation officer that entry was not made by me then police get my register and now police trying to arrest me. Now what can I do to save my self.

since the sr. number is false and i am sure that they do not match the sr. number as provided in your register. therefore, the party who had done the forged needs to prove the same. further, the hand writing of the sr. number must be different from yours. all this facts needs to be put before the police officer and you should file a polcie complaint against the party for such forgery.
