I need advice from the esteemed members and lawyers of the forum about the following:
my brother got married around 6 years back, it was arranged marriage, he has 2 sons. they were having some dispute among themselves, fighting each day, many times in anger, he said 'talaq' to her, since 1.5 year, my sister-in-law left my brother's home and went to live with her family saying that 'talaq' has happened, etc and she was no longer his wife. the main story started, her family started harassing and threatening my brother and started demanding money for the expenses which incurred at the time of marriage. we tried to bring fatwas saying that the 'talaq' is invalid in case of anger but neither she nor her family listened. we sent elders to find a solution but they were insulted and sent back. the children live with their mother, they are sent on weekends to our house to spend time with their father. my brother pays around 8000 monthly as maintenance via cheque to his wife and takes care of children's education fees, etc,etc.. They ocassionally and in a very filthy language threaten us that they will file dowry case and send police, etc,etc. my brother is ready to face anything but the problem is about our mother & sister, they threaten that they will send our mother and sister to police, etc, which is very bad for respectable people.
I'm working in dubai, my mother and sister live in constant fear.
what legal options do i have, the matter is between my brother and his wife and family but why my mother and sister are being dragged into this?
what if my brother's wife file a dowry case, what will happen? how to protect my mother and sister from harrasment?
