Name plate

Hi,
Me and my wife bought a new home, we are expecting possession of the property very soon. We wanted both of our name to be mentioned in the name plate of the society which is there in the lobby. But as per them only my name can be mentioned as mine is the first name in the agreement.

Kindly suggest if there is any law surrounding this?

Quick Summary
A homeowner is seeking clarification on whether both their and their wife's names can be displayed on their housing society's name plate, as only the first-named person on the property agreement is currently permitted. The discussion explores housing society rules regarding name plates, with advice suggesting that co-owners' names can indeed be displayed if both are registered members.

In Housing Society only registered members name can be displayed on the Society's Name Board, irrespective of the kinds of "relationships" who occupies the Flat.

Hi Archana,

Thanks for the reply.

just want to know, Bothof our names are there in the agreement, it's just that my name is mentioned first and hers second. So in this case can we request to use both of our name.

Hi,

As per housing society rules, names of house owners can be displayed on the name plate.  Accordingly, names of both you and your mother can appear on the name plate.

Best regards,
Megha

Your answer is so vague. Can't you be to the point if co owners can have both their names displayed on the society name plate??????????
