Name mistake in property documents

Dear Sirs,

In my mother's name are two adjacent properties - The top one is 5 cents, bought in 1959 and the bottom one is 2.5 cents, bought in 1963. My mother's name in the 5 cents document is T. Mariamma T and in the bottom 2.5 cents document the name is P. Mary being P taken after my father's surname. What's the sequence of legal steps by which we the legal heirs of our late mother can reconcile these two documents and rectify the error?

Thank you for your valuable advice,

Sincerely,

Karuna Sagar.

1.  Collect all documents proof which establish both name of your mother is same person. Obtain a notarized affidavit that T Mariamma and P mary are the same person. Publish a news paper public notice that the two names are same person.

2.   File for mutation transfer of ownership of both properties in the name of legal heirs under the same corrected name.

These two properties were bought about 60 years old, what have you done all these years?

There is no dispute / problem with the post vis-a-vis query being more than  6 decades old, which is basically / pria facie hypothetical and academic topic for debate.

Dear Sirs,

The two adjacent properties in my mother's name were hand written documents in telugu language. The old documents of that era were written by the document writers who wrote them in something called "chain writing" in telugu. This chain writing was difficult to decipher for ordinary people. It was way more difficult to decipher than even the doctor's prescripttion. Only after our mother's death, have we gotten them typed to printed telugu documents which revealed the discrepancy in the names of our mother. For the property to be managed or to be sold, our document writer said these two have to be unified into a common name only after which we can apply for permissions from the municipality or sell the property. But he was not sure of the legal process by which we can unify these documents into a single name related to us. My mother's academic and government records are in the name of T. Mariamma. Hence my query here. Apologise for the delay in replying. I have been travelling.

Sincerely,

Karuna Sagar.
