Murder case undertrial hurls faeces at judge in court

An undertrial in a murder case today threw excrement on the judge hearing his case.

The shocking case occurred in the pre-lunch session in the court of additional sessions judge S Y Kulkarni.

The accused, Rasheed Ayaz Shaikh is facing trial in a murder case registered against him by the D B Marg police in 2007.

He was brought to the court today for hearing of his case. When Shaikh's case was called out he pulled out a packet full of excrement from his trousers and hurled it at the dais of the judge, sources said.

According to official sources, Rasheed was agitated with the judge for adjourning his case and delaying the trial.

He was immediately taken out of the court by police officials. Judge Kulkarni adjourned the court for brief while and went to his chamber. He, however, resumed regular work after a short recess during which the dais was cleaned.

No case has been registered against Rasheed, the sources said.

This is second such incident in Mumbai's courts in the recent past. Last month, a man charged with murder in another case had hurled a 'chappal' at special MCOCA judge.
