Mmda approval

Query:

There is a vacant land located in Chitlapakkam under Tambaram SRO, which has been approved by MMDA in the year 1993.

Is this approval still valid? I could not find any details about MMDA in CMDA website. Approval Details available in CMDA website from the year 2000.

Please clarify whether MMDA approval in the year 1993 is still valid. If so, where to cross verify in online.

Thanks in advance.

Quick Summary
A user is enquiring about the validity of an MMDA approval granted in 1993 for a vacant plot in Chitlapakkam, Tambaram. They are unable to find information on the CMDA website, which only lists details from 2000 onwards. The response clarifies that planning permission must be obtained from CMDA before development, and such permissions are typically valid for three years from the date of issue.

Before you undertake any development you have to obtain Planning Permission from the CMDA, which is must under the Town & Country Planning Act. The permission is valid for 3 years from the date of issue.

According to the Town & Country Planning Act, you must get planning permission from the CMDA before beginning any development. The authorization is good for three years after it is granted.
