Dear Lawyers, 1️⃣ Objective: I’m looking for one of the best lawyers who specializes in Habeas Corpus petitions involving cross-border jurisdiction custody matters (a foreign court order regarding custody has already been issued), specifically based in Bangalore and practicing in the High Court of Karnataka. 2️⃣ Not Looking For: At this stage, I’m not considering lawyers from Delhi whose main practice is in the Supreme Court and who travel occasionally to state capitals for hearings. 3️⃣ Reasoning: In High Court matters, a lawyer’s local presence and professional reputation before the judges make a significant difference, especially in complex cross-border custody cases involving Habeas Corpus writ petitions. 4️⃣ Background: My estranged wife first initiated divorce, maintenance, and custody proceedings in a foreign jurisdiction. When she realized that she would likely have to share custody of our child, she abandoned the foreign proceedings and filed the same case in Mysore. She subsequently obtained an ex-parte custody order in India through forum shopping.
