Lock down and walking

Sir/Madam, I am living in a gated community in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, where there are around 1000 dwelling units and around 800 families are put up. There are open area around blocks and Open Space Reservation area within complex. During Lock Down since 24.3.2020, there are people, 25 to 30 people, approximately, at any point of time in the morning hours and evening hours going for walking and jogging. The total number may be around 60 to 70 both in morning and evening sessions. Many walk alone keeping social distance of around 10 to meters and few groups consists of 2 to 3, with a distance of 1 to 2 meters. There are group of people sitting on bench like structure for hours, with keeping 1 meter distance and few family members sitting together. Every day in the morning and evening, 5 to 6 people gathers at a small temple inside the complex and performing pooja. In all cases, many wear masks and few do not. There are some objections and requests for walking and jogging alone. Please advice. Thanking You

Hello Querist!

It is highly risky, you may complain to the local police station or the municipal ward officer who will then take care of it.

You are living in a society and it is presumed that most of them are educated senior citizens and know the risks to their individual lives and likely harm to others.  Think practicable, and make Anonymous complaint to police and Corporation providing full details including video footage and never expose yourself as you may have to live in the same locality for several years, and any overaction by Police may unnecessarily complicate simple issues.
