Liability sold car

I have sold my car on 1 august for which an online application was filed by dealer/buyer to transfer it on buyer name by paying taxes and application fee and filling form 29 online on 2nd august. Dealer told me it could take 2 to 3 months to reflect new buyer name on RC. Will i be liable for any civil or criminal act regarding above vehicle until ownership transfer is not complete.

Such transfers are complete quite expeditiously. You may urge the dealer to provide the acknowledgement from the RTO for having filed the application.
