Lawyer not returning petition and other papers.

What a client should do ..if a lawyers does not return clients returned petition and other paperwork ? The client needs these papers to file them in another court. The lawyer in a vague manner asking for more money.and keep wasting time.

The establishment of the lawyer-client relationship involves two elements: a person seeks advice or assistance from a lawyer/advocate; and the lawyer/advocate appears to give, agrees to give or gives the advice or assistance.

This does not answer my main question....If a lawyer wastes time and does not return clients paperwork...what recourse client has to get his documents/paperwork ?

change your advocate and complain before BCI.

Write to the lawyer seeking the return of the documents. If no response, you have the option to bring the matters before the State Bar Council. A copy of the correspondence could be endorsed to the local Bar Association as well.
