Late payment fee

A co-op housing society member paid the maintenance but not the late payment fee. How to recover the late payment fee?

Quick Summary
This discussion addresses how a co-op housing society can recover unpaid late payment fees from a member who has paid their maintenance dues. It explores the possibility of initiating legal action based on the society's bylaws and the legal enforceability of such fees. The society can initiate legal action as per the procedures laid down in the bylaws for this purpose.

They can initiate suit for recovery of the dues to the society if they are legally liable debt, by adopting the procedures of law

What exactly is the provision for levy of such late fee? Is it legally enforceable?
