I have a question regarding the property laws in Uttarakhand? My father has 2 younger brothers and about 27 years ago my dad bought a piece of land in Uttarakhand with his own money and registered it in his and his brothers names as he considered giving as part of it to them but not equally. As is usual in Indian families a fight happened and they are demanding equal parts in the land now. Now the problem here is my father lives abroad and does not want them to sell the land in his absence so for that he issued a court order to not sell the land untill a proper distribution of land is done. Now seeing as he is the sole purchaser of the land and his brothers have not even paid a single dime for the land but were living under our roof and farming on the land without paying any rent as my farther was a bit of a sentimental fool which he is now regretting. I'd really be very grateful to know what can be done by my father to hold on to his land?? This has been a source of huge inconvenience to us ..
