Codes in labour laws were introduced to:

1. Simplify and consolidate multiple laws: Combine numerous laws into a single code, making it easier to understand and comply with.

2. Streamline procedures: Standardize procedures and reduce complexities, making it easier for employers and employees to navigate.

 3. Improve ease of doing business: Simplify labour compliance and reduce bureaucratic hurdles, attracting investment and promoting economic growth.

4. Enhance labour welfare: Strengthen protections and benefits for workers, ensuring fair treatment and social security.

 5. Promote flexibility: Allow for adaptability in a rapidly changing work environment, balancing employer needs with worker protections.

6. Reduce disputes: Clarify ambiguities and inconsistencies, minimizing disputes and promoting industrial peace.

7. Align with international standards: Harmonize Indian labour laws with global norms, enhancing competitiveness and attracting foreign investment.
