Can police arrest anybody with the fir being filed?How can we know that fir is filed against us?If we directly approach police will they arrest if fir is already filed?

No police can arrest anyone without warrant. In case of Murder or tefth cases or fraud or kidnap or extortion or rape etc police can arrest without warrant. In other cases police informs the person that case has registered against that person and also ask that person to surrender in police station.

Dear sir,
A complaint has been given to the police station.Still FIR has not been registered.They want to book us under false dowry case and cheating cases for not marrying after engagement.In this case can the police directly arrest us?Please answer.
