Legally speaking he has no right as you have been in possession in your property. The deciding factor is how are you able to prove your age of building. If you are able to prove that it is in your occupation beyond twelve years to his knowledge then he has no right to claim. Suppose if you are not able to prove your possesion within his knowledge you can ask for damages.
