If one knows that some one has received bribe, but does not report to police

If one knows that some one has received bribe, but does not report to police.

Is it an offence under IPC.

In Maharashtra politicians allege on media that opposite party has been bribed.

Why They are not asked about source of information, and for not approaching law

enforcing authorities.

I am not facing any problem.Very often politicians state on TV that they know who has taken how much bribe but they  will expose at appropriate time.Politicians in maharashtra shout 50 khoke all ok.to section of shivsena which separated from Uddhav Thakare group.

Can not police ask them the source of their allegation and authenticity of the same.

If one person alleges that another person has taken bribe, the other person can go to court alleging defamation or can keep quiet unless a case is filed against him. Police need not take cognisance of such allegations made in the public. domain
