How much time and money generally section 138 ni act case take ?

Hi,

I have sent a notice for Section 138 from a local layer last month, to a property builder from which I have to recover 2 lakhs rupees advance money, as his given cheque got bounced. And he is not willing to return money even after notice.

I want to know about general procedure, time and money/expenses in Section 138 NI Act case, before filing a court case in Lucknow district court. I want to compare the cost to incur with the money I want to recover.
