Housing Society charged transfer fee more than 25k

I purchased property in Pune in 2017. Society charged 1.22lacs as transfer fees.
After getting NoC , I asked to refund excess amount with interest as they cannot ask for more than rs 25000.
After more than a year, society is ready to refund but not ready to pay interest let me know how law supports to recover amount with interest ?
