Can a Housing Society which doesn't have Conveyance Deed in its name , be a part of the Housing Federation ?

The legal ownership of your society as a whole is not automatically acquired once the homeowners buy individual residences or once you form a cooperative housing society. A conveyance deed is a mandatory legal document that literally seals the deal.

Thanks Sir. But my question remains. Is there any legal obstacle in being a part of the Housing Federation . Our Area is going for Redevelopment and our Society is yet to receive the Conveyance Deed. A Housing Federation is being planned for the Redevelopment purpose. Can we become a Member of such a Federation ?

It appears tht the housing society did not obtain the conveyance deed at that time, however since the housing society is functioning and has been recognised as a legally valid entity, there is no legal infirmity in being a member of the same while the redeveloment process is under progress.

In such circumtances it is presumed that the housing society is built on a "leased" plot of land, is it so ?

The concept of lease or freehold do not affect to become member of "Housing Fedration".

Membership in a Housing Fedration is neither compulsory nor mandatory, but volutary

Yes, a Housing Society without a Conveyance Deed can be part of the Housing Federation. The Conveyance Deed is not a prerequisite for membership in the federation. However, the society should adhere to the rules and requirements set forth by the Housing Federation for membership. For more detailed information, you can refer to the link provided.

How has the Society acquired the title to the property? Who is the predecessor in title?

Read constitution of the Federation.

This forum cannot be spokesperson of the Federation
