I left a rented room at the time of covid 2 years ago. I locked the room door but didn't tell the owner about my leaving the room because i had no Phone number of the house owner. now after 2 years he called my dad and asking for 2 years of rent.
I had given my aadhar card copy to him as Idendity Proof. he didn't even send a letter informing about rent in these 2 year...
What should i do? should I pay him the rent of these two years?
Since you didn't vacate and handover the possession of rented room and it was in your occupation and possession in covid period so landlord is entitled to get rent of due period.Better settled the matter with landlord by paying part payment as full and final payment of rent and vacate the room.
