Hindu Marriage Act / Tamilnadu Marriage Act

Which act should I choose while registering my marriage online beyond 150 days of marriage date.

Quick Summary
This discussion addresses how to register a Hindu marriage solemnised over 150 days ago, specifically comparing the Hindu Marriage Act (HMA) and the Tamil Nadu Registration of Marriage Act. While the Tamil Nadu Act has strict 90-150 day registration limits with fines, the Hindu Marriage Act is recommended for Hindu couples facing delays. You may incur extra fees for late registration, and it's advisable to consult your local office for specifics.

In case of registration of marriage under the Tamilnadu Registration of Marriage Act, the marriage could have been solemnized under any personal law. However, the marriage can be registered only within 90 days without fine and within 90-150 days with a fine.

You go for Hindu Marriage and for the delay in registering marriage, you may pay extra fees for such delay.  The fees are state subject matter, consult the local office for fees.

You can better register it under the provisions of HMA, 1955
