Fr query

What is the difference between FR-UNOCCURRED vs FR-UNTRACABLE when police submits the FR

Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies the distinction between 'FR-UNOCCURRED' and 'FR-UNTRACABLE' in police final reports. 'FR-UNOCCURRED' signifies a closure report when the investigation doesn't link the accused to the crime. The conversation also covers the court's process after a final report is submitted, including notifying the complainant and making a decision.

FR unoccurred  means policer final report for closure :

The objective of the closure report is that if the investigation conducted by the police or investigating authority does not in any way connect the accused to the crime being investigated, then it is futile to prosecute the accused person.

Thank you sir for your response.

One last query, what happens when the final report goes to court. What are the next steps

T. Kalaiselvan, Advocate (Advocate)     26 November 2023

The court will send notice to defacto complainant to hear him about his objection to the closure report and then it would take decision on merits
