Forming new association under a registered society

Sir,

Our NGO organization is registered under AP/Telangana Society Registration Act. Our organization is also taking care of welfare activities in some residential areas. Now we need to form one " Residential welfare Association" to be the part and parcel and work under guidance of our NGO and we wan't to appoint some persons as President,Secrary,Treasurer etc for this Association.

Now our question is that is it necessary to have new registration for this Association also from the Registrar of Societies? or just passing a resolution in the NGO Executive body is enough ? Can we use the same registration of our NGO on this new residential association letter head ?

  Please clarify.

Thanks,

Narayana Swamy

Respected Narayana Swamy,

No, you do not need to register your NGO; nevertheless, if you want to receive government advantages, you should.
NGOs are subject to tax breaks and support from the government, but they must first register.
It's just that registering gives you a legal existence that can hire people, pay salaries, elevate funds/grants, form partnerships, and get a PAN/bank account, among other things. As a collective, you will quickly realize the importance of having a registered organization. So, if you are certain that you want to devote the rest of your life to making the world a better place, register the organization because you will need to do so eventually.

Sir,

Our NGO already registered under Telangana State Society Registration Act having bank account,PAN card etc. Now we have formed one internal "Residential Welfare Association "

Our question is , whether we need to register seperately for this " Residential welfare Association " ?

Thanks,

Narayana Swamy
