My cousin brother got married in November 2011 and being from a joint family we all attend his marriage. Everthing was running smoothly but one day in october 2012 my cousin's wife committed suicide. My cousin brother returned from market as he do all the purchasing related to our business when he knocked the door of his room from outside she didnt open the door and he started knocking on the door and yelled her name many times. On hearing his yelling we all went towards his room from our respective rooms and tried to broke the door and we succeed. When we enter the room she was hanging with fan. We all took her to the hospital immediately but she was declared dead by doctors. My Uncle expired few years ago so my father called her native place and informed her uncle about the incident as she was also father less child and her uncle did all the arrangements in the marriage. They all came to our place late night and we went to airport to receive them. After that we made there arrangement in hotel. Next morning they all visit morchery to see dead body. There was not a single sign of beating etc on her body. Just there was blue line on her neck due to hanging. Postmortem report proved it which came after few days. That day her mother, uncle and other relatives gave there statement in front of magistrate and police that we dont have any complain from this family and they never demanded any dowry from us and our relation will remain same in the future. After "tiye ki bethak" we returned all jewellery and clothes of her and my cousin and other relatives to her mother and uncle and took in return on stamp paper which is notarised. They went back to there place. But due to bad motivation of some of the relatives her mother and brother returned back to our place and with the help of advocate tried to file a case against us. But again her uncle and grand father took them back to there place. We took a copy of the complaint from the advocate which was present with him but was not presented before the court as her uncle and grand father took them back, in it, it was clearly mentioned that she put allegation that we were demanding dowry of 50 lakhs and torturing her to bring money from her mother so that my cousin brother could start his own business. I want to mention that my cousin brother is already looking after our parental business which is running fine and he doesnt have enough time to even think of starting new business. The night before she committed sucide she talked to her mother on phone and was very happy as my cousin brother and she went to market for shopping and outing. But now her mother is putting allegation that she was complaining about the dowry in that phone call. In 11 months she was so happy that neither her mother nor any other relative visit our place to enquire about her. If we are demanding about dowry they must have visited our place. After couple of months of marriage we came to know that she like other guy and dont want to marry for 4-5 years. But she was married to our family forcibly. This was not told by her family to us and we came to know about it after couple of months after marriage. But we thought that if we all will care about her she will adopt with our family. So we use to keep her happy in all aspect. But her mother used to call her daily for 2-3 hours and never let her adjust with our family and we think that this was the main reason for her suicide.
Now again she is coming with some of her relatives to file case against us with malafide intention of getting some money from us. It will be same case of dowry and torturing as far as we are assuming. We have all things returned on stamp paper that we never demanded dowry and there daughter was happy with our family and it is notarised. We consult one advocate and he scared us to hell. He told us that she can change her statments three times and her daughter died before 7 years of marriage so you are in trouble. This stamp paper and statement doesnt have any value. Now we all are worried.

1. This statements doesnt have any value or they carry some weight while fighting the case?
2. My father in law and father in law of elder cousin brother is ready to give statement that our daughters are also staying with this family for many years and they never faced any problem. It will help or not ?
3. In post mortem report it is clearly mentioned that it is the case of sucide and no sign of beating etc it will help or not ?
4. The earlier statements given in front of SDM and police contains some value or not ?
5. Phone details of her clearly state that she use to talk to her mother for hours. It will help in any way or not ?
6. Final and most important question do we have any chance of standing against this malafide intention false dowry case ?
