Executor of the will

Whether the Beneficiary under the WILL be appointed as the Executor of the WILL?

Whether close relatives, such as Son/daughter can be the Executor of the WILL:, in case Wife is the Beneficiary?

Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies whether a beneficiary named in a will can also serve as the executor. It confirms that there are no legal restrictions preventing this, even for close relatives like sons, daughters, or a spouse. The Indian Succession Act, 1925, which governs such matters for Hindus, allows for an executor to also be a beneficiary.

Hello,

The provisions of the Indian Succession Act, 1925 would apply to the disposition of assets by a Hindu through a will (testamentary succession). As per the provisions of the Indian Succession Act, 1925, there is no restriction on an executor of a will also being a beneficiary under that Will.

Thanks
