If the indemnity bond is enforceable on you then I would suggest you reply to the HR department of your company with an apology letter stating the family problems you are facing and request them to be a little considerate. If this doesn't work let the matter go to the court and try and defend yourself with proper reason and evidence due to which you couldn't serve a notice period.
