It appears that you are in a situation where your wife has filed a Domestic Violence (DV) case against you, and the matter is currently in court. The IO (Investigating Officer) is likely calling you to gather more information or evidence related to the case. Even though the matter is in court, the IO may still be investigating the case and gathering evidence. This is a common practice in criminal cases, including DV cases. Possible reasons for the IO's call: 1. Additional questioning: The IO may want to ask you additional questions or clarify previous statements. 2. Evidence collection: The IO may want to collect more evidence or documents related to the case. 3. Witness statements: The IO may want to take statements from you or other witnesses. 4. Investigation update: The IO may want to update you on the investigation's progress. It's essential to: 1. Seek legal advice: Consult your lawyer before responding to the IO's call. 2. Be cautious: Be careful what you say to the IO, as it may be used as evidence. 3. Cooperate: Be respectful and cooperative, but also assert your rights. Remember, it's crucial to have legal representation in a DV case. Your lawyer can guide you on how to navigate the situation and protect your rights.

If your wife had additionally lodged a criminal complaint other than the DV case then the police officer may have summoned you for inquiry.

Your post lacks detail or clarity, hence you may revert with more details to render a proper opinion.

We were not together since last 2 years. My wife has filed DV case in another state where she shifted recently.I have received summon alongwith my parents from court for first hearing regarding dv case but hearing got rescheduled as Presiding officer was on leave. The police from her state has not sent me official letter for summon he just told me he is IO over phone. He asked to come at the police station for reconciliation or he will lodge FIR.He has not asked my parents to come.He is continuously asking me to call my wife even when court has issue protection order to my wife.Is it because she is going for 498A??

IO has no role, jurisdiction or authority to call you in a complaint under section 12 of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005.
