Door number issue

Hi,

We had a plot of 300sq yds say door number 1-2-123 and my father sold 100sq yds to Mr X almost 20 years ago and 200 sq yds is with us. But the door number 1-2-123 is showing the owner name as Mr X, ideally it should be 1-2-123/1. I spoke to Mr X to rectify it but hez not cooperating and refusing to rectify. I have the original sale deed of 300 sq yds on my father's name for the door number 1-2-123 and also getting the electricity bill on the same door number. Please can you let me know how to get back my father's name on the main door number (1-2-123).

Thanks..

Quick Summary
A property owner is facing an issue where a sold portion of land has retained the original door number, while their remaining portion is unassigned. Despite attempts to resolve this with the buyer, the issue persists. Advice suggests approaching local authorities with supporting documentation or consulting a local lawyer for guidance on rectification.

Prima facie  it is a minor issue which should not change details of property for seeking a rectification deed.

However, it would be better to show relevant records to a local lawyer for proper appreciation of facts, professional advise and necessary proceeding.

The problem, if at all any, needs to be sorted out through the local body (panchayat or municipality as the case may be.)

Thanks Venu for your information..
