defamation

can there be a counter case in defamation for eg if i file a defamation case on someone can they give a counter case of defamation on me

Yes, depending on facts of the case other party may file counter case for defamation.

There is no provision (u/s 499/500 IPC or tortious liability for filing counter case for defamation
