Deemed extension of contract

Two commercial entities entered into an agreement for consultancy services which expired after 2 years, after the expiry of the contract, the Consultancy firm continue to provide its services according to a verbal agreement at the same old contract rates.

1.     1.  Does the consultancy firm have any rights for recovery of monies?

2.     2.  Is it a deemed extension of contract?

3.      3. Most important any case laws to support it (not employment case laws but between two commercial      business)?
