how to get deceased husband's investment papers custody from in law's possession?? which fast remedy is available under which section??

now my question is on custody of papers. how to get custody of papers from in laws.. they are not ready to do any futher process of transferring the investments nor giving papers so that wife of deceased can start the process of tranfer on all legal heirs name. person is died long back. he prefrered no nominee for his investments. it was his choice.
