De-recognition of medical colleges and it's consequences

Hello. I'm a law student from chennai.

I have a friend, who is studying medicine in Chennai Medical College Hospital and Research Centre. He joined Mbbs on merit based on the 50% reservation provided by the Government in private colleges.

He has completed 5 years and is a house surgeon in the same hospital. But recently, there has been some issue with the recognition of his college by the Medical Council of India.

This issue will affect every student from the college including the ones who joined under the state government quota on the basis of merit. It would be a waste of 5 years of hard work for no mistake of his. And it would adversely affect his career.

What are his options? Please suggest.
