Dalai Lama's suggestions on how to make India peaceful

Use dialogue not force to resolve conflict: Dalai Lama

New Delhi, Nov 19 : Exiled Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama today said dialogue was the only way of resolving all kinds of conflicts.

He also said the problem of Naxalite and Maoist violence could not be tackled by force.

Speaking at the H T Leadership Summit and later answering queries from the audience here, the Tibetan spiritual leader said one should not get unnecessarily agitated when faced with a problem, most of which originate in too much concentration on material gains.

Similarly all political conflicts could be solved through dialogue.

''Wherever you see problem, do not use force but go in for dialogue,'' he said.

The Dalai Lama in this connection referred to the problem of Maoist and Naxalite violence and the root cause of the problem was that some areas were left out in the race of development and the people of these areas were undergoing a lot of suffering.

''Sending the Indian police to these areas is not the answer.

Do some work there,'' he said.

He called for rooting out the evil of dowry and the caste system, as these were the cause of suffering to so many people in the country.

The Dalai Lama is one of the truly holy persons now living in our world and he is unitversally resepcted. His suggestions have to be taken seriously - all the more so because they are so simple and sensible.

Why doesn't Dalai Lama go and make Naxalites peaceful? Yes, the moment PM India and co get out of India, naxalites will become peaceful.

It is true that force is not an answer to naxalism . But now naxal movement has lost it's track/objective and has become a machinery to collect levy (illegal taxes). Now only money matters to them and have been divided in several groups just for the sake of money and these grps are fighting among themselves for their existence.

Money is the nexus between man and man.
