criminal breach of trust

my name is Anas Ahmad, I wanted to purchase land. The broker who is the mediator between me and the seller demands that I give him 3 lakh rupees (total value of land is 18 lakh) as an advance money . I gave him 3 lakhs in the presence of two eye witnesses(in cash). After that the land belongs to someone else and now I don't want to purchase the land. The broker is refusing to give my money back ,can I go to the police station for the lodging of the FIR against him? please suggest the best approach.

Yes this is a n act of cheating and fraud hence you can lodge a criminal complaint against him with the local police and take steps to recover the amount through civil court also.

A t of broker comes under purview of offence of cheating so you may lodge FIR against him.
