Cr pc 160 after charge sheet file

Dear All,

I would like to know from forum that once charge sheet filed under criminal case. Can Any police officer ask witness for further investigation to come in police station under Cr P C notice 160 ?

There is no bar to the investigating officer summoning (160) and examining a person (161) after the submission of charge-sheet since as per S.173(8) he is free to carry out further investigation and do all that is necessary to get further proof

Dear Mr Bharat Chugh,

But would like to know, summoning after charge sheet and that too, a person who is already included in charge sheet as Witness. Ideally, Court of law should be involve before for further investigation.
