copyright procedure.

Dear all,

Two persons have created a unique kind of puppets and are in the business of performing with it. They r concerned about its copying and hence want to protect it under any law.

Pls tell whether the puppets and its unique performance (both) r to be copyrighted or patented or come under design Act.

Pls also tell the procedure for the application and also kindly tell the sum involved in its registration and any periodical fees ( if any) involved and the authority/office or authority with which such application is to be filed.

Thanks a ton.!!!!

Dear Ashish, the pupets and its acts are protected under the Copyright Law (performers rights). However, if you intend to produce and sell those puppets you have to register the design of the Puppet under Designs Act.
