cooperative ousing society- plot allotted-site in dispute

 my mother bought a plot in 1983 in the name of her brother  from cooperative housing society.However the site ran into civil dispute which is presently in  supreme court.Now my mother wants to get the name transferred to her name..What legal procedure should we follow to avoid problems in future ?
