Hai sir/mam,

I am final year law student and i was charged under section 20(ii)(A) of NDPS act, it is alleged by prosecution that i was caught with 19.5 grams of ganja which is 2% in 1000 grams(small quantity according to a center notification) and i am convicted in the case and i was sentenced for 6 months R. I imprisonment and 5000/- fine, act says 1year imprisonment or 10k fine or both. There is no any criminal record against me perior to this case. My question is can i reduce my sentence or can only be fined is there any case laws in my favor plz help.

Move an appeal against the order and judgment passed by Trial Court if you feel aggrieved.

Is it not too late now to realize the repercussions?

I moved an appeal n took bail until pending disposal of said appeal.

Any suggestion depends upon the grounds on which the appeal has been filed.
