pls advice, do Co-operative Bank comes under the preview of RTI? can we ask the list of total FD in last financial year?

Quick Summary
This discussion explores whether the Right to Information (RTI) Act applies to Co-operative Banks. It appears that RTI is generally not applicable to co-operative banks as they do not receive government funding. However, you can still request details about your own accounts, such as a list of total Fixed Deposits (FDs) from the last financial year, by providing your customer ID.

I applied to get few details related to my account under RTI, but as Co-operative banks not taking any govt fund or money, they refused my application with RTI Act rule which means that co-operative bank not comes under RTI.

Hello,

Yes, RTI act is not applicable to co.op.Banks. You can provide customer ID and ask for list of total fd in the account, if it is your account.
