I had approached co.op.bank for loan of 4 lakhs in 1990 & simply mortgage commercial property In the process of loan sanction co.op bank allowed me TOD of Rs.1 lakh till loan amount get sanctioned. In the mean time bank dishonor my purchased DD of Rs.10000 by giving false reason The payment stopped by drawer. I taken the matter seriously and approach RBI in the matter, RBI clarify that bank did mistake by dishonoring bank DD. Bank had filled suit in Co.Op. court in 1994 for recovery of principal amount of 1 lakh along of unpaid interest @ 15 % p/a. I am afraid that co.op. bank may gave judgment in banks favor and asks me to repay principal amount & also 20 years of interest with penal charges. Kindly advice me in the matter as it is just impossible for me to pay big amount to bank.
