CLARIFICATION

Hello friends,

Plz clarify the following legal -procedure ;

A society was registered under 'The Societies Registration Act 1860' in a nationalised character -Central Act- applicable under Delhi UT. -

From the provisions of the Act, it can also be registered at Registrar of Stock Companies as well.

The question is; Once registered at Delhi under Societies Registration Act, having its Registered office at Delhi, whether can it be possible to file the yearly returns for renewal of the society etc, with  any of the regional Registrar of Companies, subsequently?

Such query was forwarded to the concerned Registrar of Companies by email to chennai and coimbatore.Till there was no reply from them.

Anybody known this, please clarify the above and the procedure for the same.

with regards,

Mr. Suresh

Since the society was registered under 'societies regn act' returns are to be filed at 'Registrar of assurances" - Registrar of companies cannot accept returns filed before him as your's was a society registered under societies regn act.  Though the society has a nationalised charecter. returns are to be filed at the place where it got its registration certificate from, but not anywhere else.
