Quick Summary
This discussion addresses a situation where a cheque issued as a guarantee for a friend's loan has bounced. The advice clarifies that the person who issued the cheque is responsible for the loan amount, even if it was for a friend. It's crucial to either repay the amount or face potential criminal proceedings. The advice also suggests attempting to negotiate more time with the friend and seeking legal counsel if necessary.

You pay him or face the criminal case. If you can perusade your friend he may give you some more time to pay. But you have to pay as he is having the cheque.
