In June 2012, I was on a bike-trip in J&K wherein I met with an accident. The details are:
On a curvy narrow road, I was at about 30kmph and overtaking few pedestrians on the road. I collided with an oncoming Maruti 800. My pillion suffered badly with multiple fractures in the right leg, while I myself had a fracture. No other party was injured but I was charged with 279 and 338 by the police as I was on wrong side of the road.
The judge was on leave for following 2 weeks, hence I got back to Bangalore. The police constantly kept called me asking me to come and settle the legal matters which would take about half hour.
In September 2012, I flew to Leh, hired a lawyer, but the judge refused to take confession telling he will send me to jail if he accepts the confession. Now both the judge and lawyer are asking me to get the pillion rider to come and compound the charges, I have recieved an exempt for an year for now.
The problem is, it is really expensive to reach Leh also i do not want to trouble the pillion more as she is still recovering, Is it possible to arrange the compromise and dispose the case without physically being present at Leh?
