i am VINEETH JAIN U. i was born on 01 sept,1992. i was born in bangalore. recently i went to apply for passport. but i had a problem related to parents name. My father's name in my 10th study certificate was written as UTTAM JAIN P and my mother's name as MEENAKSHI JAIN P. But in my birth certificate, my father's name was registered as UTTAM KUMAR JAIN and mother's name as MEENAKSHI. Due to this mistake, My passport application was rejected. Recently I went to Bangalore municipal office(near upparpet police station). I went to change the names of my parents. But they told us that the changes would be incurred if you have any identity proof with the names. But I dont have any proof related to my (10th certificate names). What process should I follow to change my parent's name. Presently i am studying b.tech at vellore, tamilnadu. My permanent address is at kurnool(andhra pradesh). How long would this process take?
