CASE AGAINST BSES

On the night of 13 May 2011 due to thunderstorms and rain in Delhi , voltage fluctuation and sparking in an electric pole outside my house took place.

The incident took place at around 1:30 AM and we promptly informed the BSES on its 24 hour contact no.

Despite repeated calls made to them all throughout the night no action was taken by them.

Only when we visited their office in the morning did they sent a electrician to rectify the problem and feigned ignorance about the calls made to them at night.

Due to their negligence two stabilisers in my house got damaged and i suffered a loss of Rs 6000.

Can I take legal action against them for their negligence and claim compensation?

Can a case be filed against them in Consumer Court or are they amenable only to the juridiction of the Lok Adalat?
