Cancellation of registration

A person forged land documents and sold our property. A FIR was registered and he was charged sheeted. Forensic lab reports have confirmed forgery. These have been submitted to the civil court. The judge has told us that he can cancel the power of attorney. However,to cancel the fraudulent registrations, we need to pay Rs. 7 lacs. We are the vicitims of a crime. Why should we pay to regain our property. What is the court procedure for cancelling fraudulent registrations.
