Can society deny keeping paying guests?

Can Society disallow its member from keeping paying guests? Can Society ask for deposit and some additional charges if paying guests are kept by the member?

It is said that keeping Paying guest is commercial activity. In co-op. housing society, commercial activity is not permitted. Is it correct?
