Can i claim damages from neighbor if a coconut tree in their property fell on my property?

A coconut tree on your neighbor's property fell over damaging the construction in my property. In this case, can I claim damages from the neighbor?

Quick Summary
If a coconut tree from your neighbour's property falls and causes damage to your own property, you can indeed claim compensation. You can pursue this by filing a civil suit. If the fall was due to a natural event like a storm, you should notify your neighbour, provide an estimate of the damages, and request payment within a set timeframe. Should they fail to comply, you have grounds to sue for damages or compensation, particularly if the tree was in a hazardous state and they were aware of it, or if it constituted a nuisance.

If the neigbor's tree fell on your property due to storm or any other natural calamity then you can inform the neighbor about the incident and can give him an estimation of the damages caused due to this and ask him to pay the same within a time stipulated thereby in your notice.

If he fails to comply with the demands made, you can sue him for recovery of damages or compensation

You can Claim Damages under
Negligence:
Your neighbor may be held accountable for negligence if the tree was in a potentially dangerous state and they were aware of about it

Nuisance:
