I am in discussion with a Land owner who has a land near Kalimpong in Darjeeling District. He has originally bought it with a Deed of Sale registered at Kalimpong Sub Registrars office.
I need to know from where do I search for the ownership validity for the same Land.
Enquiry into Darjeeling Land Registry offices shows that the land is still with the previous owners name and not in the name of the seller yet.
What else do I need to check and from where?
Will checking the same in Kolkata be OK or only from Kalimpong.
Please help.
